I’ve just put the finishing touches to the new look Caffeinehit. I thought it was about time it had a bit of a sprucing up and spring clean. Being the 1st birthday and all it seemed a very suitable time!
It would be great to hear what you think, so leave some comments here…

It’s a strange thing, I never REALLY thought that I would be having to consider online marketing and SEO when I design sites. I have however, over the years found myself thinking about it more and more.
It’s obviously an incredibly important aspect to any business, especially an online one. I have found that around 80% of my business comes through people finding Caffeinehit on Google, 15% through referrals and the the other 5% through chance or at networking events.
You can definitely monetize your business through careful coding and linking before you even consider spending any marketing spend on Google AdWords. Sure advertising will bring in the traffic but that traffic will only be coming to your site while you’re shelling out hard cash on your ad campaigns. A clever webmaster or marketing manager will think twice about a) how they build their website b) how they maintain it on a constant basis and c) exactly what it is they’re trying to do with their product before they start throwing cash down the drain on Adwords etc.
I appear (by some chance) to have come up with a formula that works very effectively with the search engines.
So, if you need help with your online marketing and SEO please do drop me a line. I know that I can help improve your traffic, decrease your marketing spend and boost sales.

I’ve just had a check and Caffeinehit is back as #1 for the Google search term “graphic designer london“, at least on Google UK. Caffeinehit.com has been in the top 10 for some time and was briefly at #1 earlier in the year. I tweaked the SEO and markup of the site a month or so ago and it appears to have done the trick.
I find that 80% of my work comes through Google searches and other online networking websites. Getting your SEO fully optimised and streamlining the site code will more than pay for the time you spend working on it. Updating the code and making changes to enhance your listing on search engines like Google should ideally be done every month to keep your site on the first page.
I realise that there is a hell of a lot more to it that simple tweeking the code, if you can find that balance and get the code and copy right on the site you’re on to a winner.

Well the latest creation to come out of Caffeinehit Ltd has hit the web, the new Nintey Ten website has just been put live.
I had the challenge of re-designing and re-branding Ninety Ten. With quite a short deadline it was about creating something that was simple and effective, allow people to go to the site and find out about the company and their products quickly.
With a new style navigation, updated logo, colours and branding guideline I think it updates the brand and gives them that web2.0 look they were looking for.

Now I really do need to blog about this before someone else casts me in a bad light. I’ve been coding on a Mac now for about 6 years. One of the more annoying aspects of coding with CSS is the lack of a # key on the keyboard - laugh it up PC peeps.
Anyway, it was only last week. 6 years after first starting out on the development road that someone pointed out you have to just press ‘Alt 3′ and hey presto, more # keys than you can shake a stick at.
Thanks Drew.
How shameful!
