Well, I felt it was about time that we refreshed the company logo a little bit, so, here it is! It ties in quite nicely with the caffeinehit labs logo we currently have.
The strapline is one of those things you come up with down the pub, unfortunately it was just me, stone-coled sober in the office. Now I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. Either way, it made me chuckle for at least 10 seconds.

We’re pleased to see the new Caffeinehit branding design for SXSW up on their site. Really looking forward to see how the logo goes down during the festival.
See it in all it’s glory here.

LONDON, 9 February 2009 - Caffeinehit Ltd are proud to announce the launch of new Caffeinehit Labs product Gighit.com, a site offering wiki style content, powerful features and access to a passionate community of fellow music lovers to UK gig goers. The work of designer-turned-entrepreneur Andy Ashburner and stunt coder Alen Mujezinovic, Gighit focuses on enhancing the live music experience, acting as the helpful, knowledgeable friend users will wish they’d always had: recommending bands, reminding them of upcoming gigs and even working hard to find them the cheapest ticket price.
Gighit.com originally launched in 2000, acting as a forerunner to successful sites like iLike and Last FM and existing in various forms until an identity crisis put the project on hiatus in 2006. In 2009 the new Gighit.com is a team player - offering full integration with its successful peers and bringing its own expertise to the party too.
“Gighit makes use of popular social networks like Facebook, Last FM, iLike and Twitter to help users filter their content”, said Andy Ashburner. “By registering with Gighit you can import a vast amount of information you already have on other sites to help you personalise your experience very quickly - add geo-location and matching stuff with your friends and you have a perfect mashup of content.” Looking ahead, Ashburner and Mujezinovic are already building on the existing features with plans to “refine this uber-personalisation with the release of the ‘mojo filter’”.
Gighit.com launches at 4pm GMT on 9th February 2009 - http://www.gighit.com.

I was wondering why we were getting so many request emails from the US late last week and now I know why, HotPrints was featured on TechCrunch.

It’s the start of a new (and potentially tough) year so, why not get ahead of the mob and get your website updated, branding fine tuned or promotion material refreshed.
Caffeinehit is now taking on new projects for 2009 so, whatever it is that you’re looking to have done we can do it. Get in touch at hello@caffeinehit.com.

We’ve been working super hard on a stack of projects the last month or so. The most recent one being the logo design for the SXSW (2009) Web Awards in Austin.
Anyway, we’re really pleased with the logo, it has a lot of potential to be used online/offline/video/print, it’s going to look super.
The main concept behind the logo was pixels. As well as standing well as a logo and having the ability to scale because it’s modular structure it can be chopped, changed and moved around to work on various media.
Check out the logos in all their glory here.

As I’m sure many of you will be, Caffeinehit Towers will be closing it’s doors from Friday 19th December until Monday 5th Janury 2009. Emails will be picked up throughout this time though so if you have any queries or quote requests please go right ahead.
In the meantime Happy Christmas from Caffeinehit and see you the other side in 2009!

Well, it’s not very often I get as excited about something as I am with the new Gighit. It’s been a long time in the making, most of the time just bubbling away at the back of my head. NOW those thoughts are becoming a reality.
Alen and I have been working tirelessly for the last 2 months on the new Gighit. Designing, coding and now plugging in all of the bells and whistles that are going to make this website (hopefully) rock your social worlds.
I’m not going to reveal anything yet other than the logo (above), even though it’s been bouncing around for a few months on the web THIS is it’s official ‘launch’.
Other than that I can reveal the new beast is being coded in Python/Django and will be hitting your monitors in December 2008. When it’s live we will let you know here first!

I’m sorry, did I miss something? When did Facebook get a sense of humour?! The usual po-faced website appears to have a penchant for Little Britain.
I happened to click on a friends profile and it came up with the error “You want to see a profile? - Computer says ‘no’”. How random!

Well, I thought that it was about time I did a post (of sorts).
Things have been slightly odd here as of late. If there is such a thing as a credit crunch it really doesn’t seem to be affecting us (touch wood) as it has done some other companies I know. So we’re finding ourselves going through the same busy peaks and troughs that you get with work coming in, the peaks and troughs are just magnified. One minute you think “oh shit, there’s nothing to do”, the next thing you know it’s “oh shit, how are we going to turn this lot around!?”.
Fortunatelty though we now have Alen here who has been working tirelessly on Gighit and fine tuning the Caffeinehit website. I’ve just got back from New York, the original reason was for FOWD, a real disappointment (compared with FOWA). Luckily there were some very interesting meetings after that which made the trip worthwhile, watch this space in the coming weeks.
So… If you hadn’t gathered there really was no reason for a post today, I just felt that it was time to post something! Either way, there’s some very exciting stuff in the pipeline so make sure you check back soon…
