COCKTAIL RECIPES 'D'
DAIQUIRI
- Juice of 1/4 lemon or 1/2 lime
- 1 tsp caster sugar
- 2 measures dark Rum

Shake the ingredients well with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Decorate with a cocktail cherry.

DAMN-THE-WEATHER COCKTAIL
- 1 tsp Triple Sec
- 1 tbsp Orange Juice
- 1 tbsp Sweet Vermouth
- 1 measure Gin

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

DARB COCKTAIL
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 3/4 measure Dry Vermouth
- 3/4 measure Gin
- 3/4 measure Apricot-flavoured Brandy

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

DEEP PURPLE Sent in by Ben Smyth (2002)
- 1 shot Red Aftershock
- 1 shot Blue Aftershock
- 1 shot Smirnoff Ice

Pour Red/Blue aftershock into pint glass, over ice; add Smirnoff ice. Variation - double measures of aftershock! WARNING THIS WILL GET YOU HAMMERED!

DEEP SEA COCKTAIL
- 1 measure Dry Vermouth
- 1/2 tsp Anisette
- 1 dash orange bitters
- 1 measure Gin

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

DELMONICO NO.1
- 3/4 measure Gin
- 1/2 measure Dry Vermouth
- 1/2 measure Sweet Vermouth
- 1/2 measure Brandy

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass. Add a twist of lemon peel.

DELMONICO NO.2
- 1 dash orange bitters
- 1 measure Dry Vermouth
- 1 1/2 measures Gin

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass. Add a twist of lemon peel.

DEMPSEY COCKTAIL
- 1 measure Gin
- 1 measure Apple Brandy
- 1/2 tsp Anisette
- 1/2 tsp Grenadine

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

DIAMOND FIZZ
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp powdered sugar
- 2 measures Gin
- Chilled Champagne

Shake with ice and strain into highball glass over two ice cubes. Fill with champagne and stir.

DIXIE COCKTAIL
- Juice of 1/4 orange
- 1 tbsp Anisette
- 1/2 measure Dry Vermouth
- 1 measure Gin

Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

DR PEPPER Sent in by Stuart Campbell, UK (2004)
- 1/2 pint Beer
- 3/4 pint Coke
- 1 shot Amaretto

Take 1/2 pint glass, fill about 1/2 with your beer of choice, then top up to about 3/4 with coke. Get a shot of amaretto (in the shot glass) and simply drop the whole thing in (glass an all) and as its frothing up, down the lot... Mmmmm dr pepper, so misunderstood...

DRY MARTINI (5-to-1)
- 1 2/3 measures Gin
- 1/3 measure Dry Vermouth

Stir vermouth and gin over ice cubes in mixing glass. Strain into cocktail glass. Serve with a twist of lemon peel or olive, if desired.

DU BARRY COCKTAIL
- 1 dash bitters
- 3/4 measure Dry Vermouth
- 1/2 tsp Anisette
- 1 1/2 measures Gin

Stir with ice and strain into cocktail glass. Add a slice of orange.
